One of the recent themes I’ve been writing about is the distinction between activity and passivity as ways of navigating the world. The difference between acting or deciding and absorbing or observing.
A common piece of philosophical advice is to live an active life rather than a passive one. I’m curious how this relates to other pieces of philosophical advice. For instance, “don’t live in the past,” or “don’t be afraid of things outside of your control.”
I have a feeling that there’s a connection here, but I’m not sure what it is. What do you think?
I would very much like to! I'm not sure what the connection is yet, though. It's hard. It isn't as if people who say "don't live in the past" are saying 'don't be passive,' but they're saying something quite similar. I'm not sure!
You should definitely explore this topic in greater detail, it's incredibly fascinating!

Time to research!
